What is dermal filler?
Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are injectable gels used to support hydration, add volume and enhance definition in selected areas. Hyaluronic acid is a substance naturally found in the body that attracts and holds water. Revanesse fillers can support hydration within the treated tissue while helping shape or restore volume. Planning starts with your existing features, facial balance and the changes you would like to discuss.
How it works
Hyaluronic acid gel is placed in selected areas to add volume or definition. Its ability to attract and retain water also supports hydration in the treated tissue. The effect depends on the product, amount and placement, so your plan is guided by your anatomy and goals.

Recovery & downtime
Early swelling and bruising can change the appearance of treatment. Swelling may take one to two weeks to settle; the clinic advises allowing two to four weeks to assess the settled result. Healing varies.

Potential side effects
Swelling, bruising, redness and tenderness can occur. Less common risks include infection. Rare blood-vessel complications can cause tissue damage or vision problems. Risks and when to seek urgent help are discussed before treatment.

Before your appointment
- Before your appointment, complete the clinic’s secure intake form in Jane App with your health history, medications, supplements, allergies and previous treatments.
- We will not ask you to share medical or health information over social media. Please use your Jane App intake form for this information.
- Do not stop prescribed medication without your prescriber’s advice.
- Discuss upcoming events and allow time for potential swelling or bruising.

Aftercare
- Avoid touching or massaging the area unless your provider instructs you to do so.
- Follow the clinic’s advice to avoid makeup, strenuous activity and extreme temperatures for the first 24 hours. Follow your personalized recovery instructions.
